-Subject: DBZ promo at Burger King
Posted on Sunday, February 9 2003 -=- By {-SzR-}

-It seems that the Dragonball Z Promom has begun at Burger King. The promo includes a DOUBLE suprise 1 Power Puff Girl figure and 1 Dragonball Z figure. There are 4 diffrent characters Goku, Vegeta, Trunks and Android #13 (after absorbing #14 and #15 power cells and CPUs). I scanned this picture myself and you won't find it anywhere else. Click on the Thumbnail for a closer look at the figures. I had a few emails asking "Why did they put it with PPG (Power Puff Girls)?" Well to be fair they had to include a toy for girls too!!! -=- SzR.

-Subject: Here He Comes, Here Comes Speed Racer!!!
Posted on Saturday, February 8 2003 -=- By {-TimofLegacy-}

-One of my all time favorite cartoons/animes is coming to DVD finally!! Family Home Entertainment (FHE) will be releasing "Speed Racer Limited Edition Vol. 1" on April 22nd. The $22.98 DVD will contain the first eleven dubbed only Speed Racer TV episodes, as well as "limited edition rubber tire packaging." I am personally stoked about this show coming to DVD, though I am a little disappointed it won't have the Japanese track. I so wanted to hear Mach-a-GoGo heh heh.

-Subject: Yu Yu Hakusho - Toonami's First PG Show?
Posted on Wednesday, February 5 2003 -=- By {-Izlude-}

-Wow in a even more twisted turn of events, it turns out that Yu Yu Hakusho may actually remain PG for it's premire on Toonami!This may be mainly due to Funimation keeping the edited version strictly at just PG, and not the old "One episode is Y7, then another is PG" has before.

Nothing is known about whether or not the mild language will be filtered out or not. Only time will tell really, but in a nutshell YYH should not be edited even more just because it's on Toonami. Personally, I see no problems airing a PG rated show durring the day, it shouldnt cause any trouble at all, and I know for a fact it wont.

For more information on YYH's premire on Toonami and more on the changes go to Animation Insider .

I have to admit I'm a bit disappointed in hearing that Toonami is being cut short a hour again, but I'm sure things will be looking up with the newest additions in the future. It's good to know that the Adult Swim will be kicking more than ever! And if YYH really does turn out to keep its PG rating on Toonami, this could be some really good news in further down the road, we could have practically uncut DBGT this fall! Wouldnt that be nice? Oh yeah, let's not forget the Trunks and Bardock Specials and Movies 4,5 and 6 which CN has been holding out on for a LONG time. I hope we see some of this good stuff happening soon... ~ later -=- Izlude.

-Subject: DBZ info and Schedule changes
Posted on Wednesday, February 5 2003 -=- By {-SzR-}

-
Ahhh first DBZ STUFF it seems that March 17th is the First day of NEW DBZ episodes starting with Episode 262. (this is in addition to Tims Post below) a source has told me that it is SCHEDULED to Air but of course there are no promises. CN TV Schedule. NOTE: I do not know if he means they may move it up to cover a week of blank spots from March 10th but as of speaking with my source he stated March 17th.

also don't forget to pick up your copy of the last video in the BUU series "Kid Buu - A New Beginning" (pictured to the left) on March 11, 2003.

Also Cartoon Network has a new TEASER page of .hack//SIGN go here to see it ~> .hack//SIGN on Toonami

Also as I was browsing The schedule looking for any more new episodes of .hack//SIGN I found something intresting starting March 3rd. It appears that they have a Line-up change that shows new addition to Toonami's line-up (they are adding Yuyu Hakusho) in order to make room for 2 NEW shows airing on Adult Swim (LUPIN THE 3RD & REIGN: THE CONQUEROR). the schedule is as follows....

March 03 6:00 p.m. Yuyu Hakusho - Surprised to be Dead
March 04 6:00 p.m. Yuyu Hakusho - Koenma Appears
March 05 6:00 p.m. Yuyu Hakusho - Kuwabara, A Promise Between Men
March 06 6:00 p.m. Yuyu Hakusho - Requirements for Lovers
March 07 6:00 p.m. Yuyu Hakusho - Yusuke's Back
March 10 6:00 p.m. Yuyu Hakusho - Three Monsters

~ Followed by
6:30 p.m. Dragon Ball Z on each date

Yuyu Hakusho is coming to Toonami??? oddly enough YES, and its gonna be Butchered (censored I'm sure)!! in order to place Reign and Lupin in the Adult Swim Line up. -=- SzR.

-Subject: New DBZ episodes???
Posted on Tuesday, February 4 2003 -=- By {-TimofLegacy-}

-I bet everyone is wondering when will these new episodes start. The FINAL 14 episodes of everyone's favorite series will air this coming March. Don't have an exact date just yet, however. Also making its way to Toonami will be Yu Yu Hakusho. Trigun as well will hit Cartoon Network in April, and will probably be on Adult Swim.

**UPDATE** I checked CN's schedule and on March 10th they have DBZ listed but no episode title. The shows leading up to this date are the ones of Goku and Vegeta in Buu's body. That seems to be where they left off. So take this as speculation, but I believe the final 14 eps will air starting Monday March 10. -=- TimofLegacy.

-Subject: DBZ mentioned in TV Guide issue
Posted on Monday, February 3 2003 -=- By {-SzR-}

-In The Feb. 8-14 TV Guide issue is a mention of Dragon Ball Z.
It states that Dragonball Z is a:

"Kids Show for Families to Watch Together".

The author of the article is sorta confused over the plot, has a lack of interest in the music and dub, but admires the animation.

Thanks to Daniel for the Bit.

-Subject: Anime Nation Gets Into The Biz!
Posted on Monday, February 3 2003 -=- By {-Izlude-}

-Everyone's favorite online anime source is now getting into the fine art of domestic translation and distribution. Anime Nation's new direct to dvd division, Anime Nation Entertain, will have it's very first anime dvd release, Risky Safety ready by this summer hopfully if everything goes according to plan. Not much has been said about it yet really, EQAddict, Rabid Moogle, and John, the biggest names of AN have been pretty secret about it all, including who will be casted for the dubbing. For the subtitles, they will have a throughly researched fansub script supplied by a group of fansubbers, and then it will be edited for grammer, and stuff like that.

For more information about Risky Safety's release, head on over to Anime Nation yourself and keep your eyes peeled on what may be AN's next step of evolution. For more on Risky Safety, go to The Offical Risky Safety Site. It sounds like a pretty wild little series, its not very long, but from what I have read and seen of the character designs, it looks quite entertaining.

That's all for now, ~ later days

-Subject: Spirited Away wins Numerous Awards
Posted on Sunday, February 2 2003 -=- By {-TimofLegacy-}

-Spirited Away swept every single category it was nominated for at this years Annie Awards. The awards are:

Outstanding Achievement in an Animated Theatrical Feature
Directing in an Animated Feature Production
Music in an Animated Feature Production
Writing in an Animated Feature Production

Spirited Away beat out such animated movies as Ice Age, Lilo and Stitch, Treasure Planet, and Monster's Inc. I personally have seen the subtitled version and was very impressed with this feature. The dubbed version, released by Disney, is expected out on DVD on April 17th. I can only hope there won't be that infamous red tint like on the Japanese release.

Sonny Strait was the original Toonami Tom for Cartoon Network's Toonami. Sonny's work at FUNimation covers several properties. He is the goofy and lovable Krillin on Dragon Ball Z as well as the flamboyantly evil General Blue on Dragon Ball. Recently, Sonny was cast as the suave and amorous, international super-criminal Lupin and says it's the greatest role he has ever landed.

Did you Know?
If you are a fan of Lupin III features, you may notice something very familiar about the lead character. Is it his charm? His wit? His sideburns? Possibly.
