-Subject: .hack//SIGN = New Generation of Anime
Posted on Tuesday, January 28 2003 -=- By {-Izlude-} drop me a line
-Yo this is Izlude reporting here, and I got something to tell you all about Bandai's latest addition to Cartoon Network's Toonami Super Saturday's, .hack//SIGN!!

I have heard countless complaints that .hack would not be a good show for Toonami because it has very little action in it, and more of a on going plotline plus character development. Some people see this has a way for Bandai to cash in on the .hack games coming to PS2 shortly in Feb. While though they may be right there, it is a excellent idea to get games of a new anime in America sold, there is more to it than just making a quick buck, this is about a new era of anime.

Toonami has always been the target of action animation, I mean from Johnny Quest, to DragonBall, to Gundam... and even He-Man (which I love mind you!), but really, the barbaric action gets old sometimes.Something new and refreshing is always nice, like Big O, Outlaw Star, and yes, even Hamtaro. Series that focus on story, characters and style, not so much on hardcore action, and I tell you, I got good a feeling .hack will do just that, it'll show those typical pre-teens, kids, and even adults that animation aimed at a more, less comedy, more story driven audience. It will show that animation and japanese anime in general dont have to contain lots of fighting to be good.

Some shows that aired on Toonami however didnt rely solely on action, once again, Big O, Outlaw Star, and umm... Hamtaro are good examples right there, even Tenchi Muyo too! All of them have become huge successes thanks to there run on Toonami, Big O is getting another season, there are "talks" about more Outlaw Star, Hamtaro is like god now, and heck, Tenchi's popularity shot through the roof. It's all good I tell you! This may end up being true for .hack! An anime with a video game tie-in could proove to be a wonderful success.

So for all of you skeptical anime fans, and even you newbies, I recommend you check out .hack this Saturday at 3:00 PM, even if you are a .hack fan. Dont be afraid of "bad dubbing", your not a fan of vocalization, your a fan of animation, remember that. You should also be glad that your favorite series will be picking up new fans has well, hey, ya might even have something new to talk about with your friends in school, ya?

Also... don't forget to be on the lookout of the .hack games for PS2, they are looking great! See? Anime games don't have to have cel shaded graphics to look like anime, look at DBZ:Budokai, excellent example! Plus... we may get some .hack manga eventually... that would be nice ^_^ ~ later days, and keep it real

-Subject: Alright get ready for some news... shibbity shibbity shawa
Posted on Tuesday, January 28 2003 -=- By {-Izlude-} drop me a line
-Yeah I'm a new guy, you might know me, you might not, but that isnt important, that it is not ^_^ cuz I have some good anime news... for you!

Well...not exactly anime news, but manga anyways, Tokyopop has aquired the rights to the FLCL (Fooly Cooly/Furi Kuri) manga, from what I have heard around the Anime Nation Forums FLCL is actually pretty short, consisting of 2 volumes, and according to what some users have said about Tokyopop's newest aquired manga (they have been grabbing alot lately!)that they are all all very short. I know there are a ton of people out there who like FLCL, and they'll probably dig the manga alot. To see a full list of whats been picked up, I'd suggest heading over to Anime
Nation News
, it's all within the latest news there.

Let's see... what else do we got going around here eh? Oh! According to Anime
On DvD
Media Blasters will be releasing the almost Rurouni Kenshin/Trigun like Samurai adventure, Samurai Deeper Kyo! Wow that was quick wasnt it? It just ended in Japan not very long ago, plus Tokyopop will be releasing the manga in June, this is good! More samurai action is nice, especially since Rurouni Kenshin (also released by Media Blasters) ended just over last summer. Great addition!

Now, how about some "underground news" eh? Well there have been countless reports of the Rurouni Kenshin manga being featured in the American Shonen Jump however it was recently stated by a rep from Viz Communications that those rumors were false, but... Viz is trying to work out something in getting the license. Since SandLand (Created by DragonBall man, Akira Toryimaya) is very short, and will probably be over with by Issue 8, if Viz gets a good deal going... maybe we'll see it over this summer has SandLand's replacement, ya?

Well that end's the news for today, stop by for more of the latest news in the world of anime (and manga!), ~ later days -=- Izlude.

-Wow, talk about respect from a respective site. George Phillips of Anime News Network (Only one of THE biggest sites for anime news) has written an article that mentions our site. I am totaly caught off guard by this artcile though I have given Anime News Network a Lot of news, they could have mentiond tons of sites but mentioned only 3 and mine was one of them with more than welcome comments here is an excerpt of the article

Saiyanz Rage (http://www.saiyanz-rage.net/), a large Dragon Ball fansite from the same time period as Planet Namek, returned when thousands of fans e-mailed the maintainer, asking him to return his site to activity. SZR staffers obliged and once again, the site is bustling with activity. While SzR continues to focus on Dragon Ball, much of the information on the site is for other new anime shows, like Reign and .hack//SIGN. ~ George Phillips

-Subject: Great site returns
Posted on Sunday, January 26 2003 -=- By {-SzR-} drop me a line
-Seems like all the oldies are coming back. Guess they just can't get enough of this community. Well a site as big as Planet Namek has returned. Its "Daizenshuu EX" or also known as VegettoEX's Home Page. According to the owner he states "Daizenshuu has grown to be one of the largest and most well-known of its kind. With content ranging from the rarest music from the "DragonBall" universe known to man (including the most comprehensive CD database anywhere), to the latest news, reviews, and more, you're sure to find something of interest within this site. We invite you to return again and again in your journeys." - VegettoEX

I must agree, VegettoEX (along with our site) was one of only 4 sites that was mentioned on Planet Namek when we closed down which means that this site had POWER back then and I believe will have POWER again. You ask what are the fans Saying???? well come see for yourself @ FANS OPINIONS.
Visit Daizenshuu EX and tell'm SzR sent ya!

OMG I hope Planet Namek isn't planning a come back :::: Shutters :::: -=- SzR.

- 1. The new Trailor for the DBZ Budokai game is out. You can view it at Dragonball Z Budokai Trailor
- This game is NOTHING like DBGT Final Bout. The paly is much more fluent and there are way more characters and MOVES to be done here. I do NOT understand why so many people have a misconception that this game will be another DBGT Final Bout game. I mean if you check the Dragonball Z Budokai Trailor you will realize this game is far more reaching than DBGT Final Bout could ever be. I believe this game is a very good introduction to a long series of DBZ video games. I do want a DBZ/GT game that is based around the METAL GEAR SOLID concept. But hey, we gotta work with what we got. I do hope all of you buy the new DBZ Budokai game as to show Infogrames that the DBZ/GT games are very popular and that it would be to their advantage to make MORE of them. Just my final 2 cents on the game. Once again Dragonball Z Budokai Trailor.
