-Subject: The Future at a Glance
Posted on Saturday, March 15 2003 -=- By {-SzR-}
-Well If you noticed I have been hardly seen posting news. DBZ news is rather slow and I have over 30 emails to go through regarding Anime news. More important is a post about what the Future holds for this site. It is doing very well a lot better than I expected but as always me and a few trusted friends Have something VERY VERY big to bring into the community and soon it will be talked about at some Animecons if you attend them. Its gonna be shocking as only Saiyanz Rage tends to be. SHOCKING enough to say that its big time Kiji for the anime world. -=- SzR.

-Subject: Voice of Goku to go to New Zealand, his mother would be PROUD
Posted on Thursday, March 13 2003 -=- By {-TheQuestion-}
-If you live in New Zealand and/or care anything about Sean Schemmel, you'll be interested in this piece I picked up from The Official Dragonball Z Site. Anyway, here is what the article had to say:
Voice of Goku in New Zealand Sean Schemmel, the voice of Goku, will be appearing at the Armageddon Pulp Culture Expo in Auckland New Zealand on April 12-14th 2003. He will be signing FREE trading cards during the expo as well as hosting two KAMEHAMEHA contests. There will be loads of DBZ stuff, including a national card tournament, toys, anime screening and more. Here is the following schedule:
SUNDAY 13th APRIL • 4 pm - DRAGONBALL Z KAMEHAMEHA CONTEST HOSTED BY SEAN SCHEMMEL
MONDAY 14th APRIL • 4 pm - JUNIOR KAMEHAMEHA CONTEST (Entrants must be 14 years of age or younger)
So I guess if you're a big Schemmel fan (which I AM NOT, that guy is an ass) this would probably interest you. The Kamehameha contest sounds interesting enough though. That's all the news from me for now. I'll be in Orlando for the next two weeks so when you don't see me, you'll know why.

-Yay good week for manga news, first of all -
Manga Dominates Mainstream Comic Sales "Apparently for the final week of February, manga titles account for 40 out of the top 50 best selling graphic novels in American mainstream bookstores and retail outlets including Barnes & Nobel and Borders bookstores. Over half of the best selling manga titles in America are published by TOKYOPOP, followed up by Viz, Dark Horse, and Comics One."

-Subject: Various Anime Titles Make Top 100
Posted on Thursday, March 6 2003 -=- By {-TheQuestion-}
-The Online Film Critics Society has released what they call are the top 100 Animated Films of all time. Among the list, there were several anime titles. There could have been many more familiar names but remember...This is America. They like Toy Story best here (which pulled in the number one spot). The following were the anime titles to make the list:
10. Spirited Away (2002) 16. Princess Mononoke (1999) 20. Akira (1989) 23. Grave of the Fireflies (1988) 30. My Neighbor Totoro (1993) 38. Ghost in the Shell (1996) 46. Kiki's Delivery Service (1989) 54. Metropolis (2002) 61. Transformers: The Movie (1986) 83. Perfect Blue (1999) 84. Ninja Scroll (1995)
As you can see anime makes a strong presence, but I personally feel that Akira and Metropolis deserved to be much higher on that list, especially when taking a look at the competition. To view the full list, go here. You'll be able to judge for yourself what should be where or whatever. On the whole though, I was impressed with the titles they chose, and the overall standings they came in. Thanks to Toon Zone for this.

-Cowboy Bebop The Movie -Release Date: April 4, 2003 - Alright time to pay tribute to CB The Movie. First of that is the official poster for the movie located to the left of this article. I have seen this movie also known as Knocking on Heavens Door. I enjoyed it and most Bebop fans do. in fact it held the #1 spot in Japan for a long time. This movie is promoted by Sony who oddly enough hasn't made any attempt to cross promote it with any TV Series. No matter this is another Anime that will show main stream movie companies that America wants more Anime placed on the big screen. So Whats it about? Well here is a brief summary. Faye kinda is catapolted into a big mess when she is trying to capture this Hacker and ends up watching this tanker explode killing a bunch of people but more impotantly a Virus is released that stems from this exploding tanker. The Government places this high reward for the capture of the criminal and Faye is one of the only people who seen him. Of course Spike joins in for the bounty that leads him to Maroccan Street where he meets a man who gives him important information. At this point Spike also meets this veil woman. Well not revealing to much they find out that this virus can multiply itself and self destruct. Stuff happen on a train and a woman survives and is not affected by the virus. They analyze her blood to see why she is not infected. They create an anti virus and try to release it over the city. I won't say more you gotta watch it.
