Episodes 53-56
Episode 53
- Things start off with a bang. After he transforms, Zarbon grabs Vegita's head and smashes it against his. When he does so, Vegita spits out blood, and a bloody wound appears on his forehead.
- Tons of punches and kicks are editted out of Vegita and Zarbon's battle.
- Zarbon grabs Vegita by the hair and smacks his face around for a bit.
- When Vegita crawls out of the lake, his face is covered in blood.
Episode 54
- The story of Piccolo's past is botched up again in the American version, simply because FUNimation is too lazy to explain the existence of Piccolo Daimaou.
- When Freeza's henchman arrives at the Nameck village, the place is littered with dead bodies. One of the Namecks is still barely alive and the henchman floats down to him and asks him what happened. The Nameck tells him a Saiya-jin destroyed the village, and the henchman promptly blows a hole in the back of the Nameck.
- When the henchman gets back to Freeza's ship and tells him he killed the Nameck Freeza calmly asks, "You killed a valuable witness?". He replies, "Uh...yes.". Freeza's eyes light up, and he deep fries the henchman on the spot.
Episode 55
- The fight between Piccolo and the other Z Soldiers is cut up a bit. Some punches are taken out, and Piccolo beats the heck out of Chaozu, but the largest punch edit of all time appears when Tenshinhan hits Piccolo in the face. Come on! It doesn't look natural at all, it looks just plain dumb.
- Kaiou's joke after the fight between Piccolo and the rest was changed. Originaly it was, "What vegetable gives you gas when you eat it in the morning? Asaparagas!". Ha....ha......ha. Let me explain. The Japanese prounounce asparagus as asaparagas, and "asa" means morning, so basically it's "Morning Gas". Get it? If you hadn't noticed the trend, in Japan, all of Kaiou's jokes are plays on words.
- When Vegita busts out of the healing tank, he kills one of Freeza's men in the process. When he gets his suit back on, he steps on the dead body's head.
Episode 56
- When Gohan arrives at the Nameckian village Vegita destroyed, he walks around in horror and anger as he sees the dead bodies of adults, and children. Later, Gohan buries all of the villagers and even makes grave markers for them. It's amazing; the contrast between good and evil in this saga is so strong.
