Anime Shell XG // Anime // Infomation // Trigun ->
Title:
Trigun
Genre: Action
Volumes: Three Volumes, 20 Chapters
Other Series: Trigun Maximum
Similar Series: None
Rating: Everyone (Sparse blood, sparse death)
Synopsis:
The $$60 billion dollar man: Vash the Stampede. His name indicates a wandering man, his
nick name, "The Humanoin Typhoon", indicates that he's a human disaster, many towns have
been leveled by this single man. But is it what it seems. Well, of course not, then,
it'd be too predictable.
Review: Many, many people love the anime series. But what about the manga? Is there that much of
a difference? Well, I've only got the first DVD of Trigun, and not much is different,
Meryl and Millie actually find Vash in the manga, not much beyond that. But, if you
have never tasted a taste of the pie called "Trigun", well, then here's what's in store
for you: laughs, then a moment of reflection... Too much reflection, better get back to
laguhs.
Plot:
Well, you basically have Vash, who's SOMEHOW, got this horrible reputation, and a
gigantic bounty on his head. Two people from some insurance company find him so they
can keep an eye on him, so he won't, you know, destroy stuff and stuff... As the story
progresses we delve deeper into Vash's past. Finding out why he is what he is. And in
the end, we get a semi-filling ending that leaves waaaay too much open... Even for a
sequel.
Character
Designs: It's hard to summarize the characters, really, when you try to think of them,
they seem to fit the cliche pretenses that have been set before them. But that isn't
entirely the truth, instead of leaving a big hole where most do, that whole is filled
with a meaningful reason. Take Vash, for example, he doesn't kill anyone, big whoop,
right? That's basically the same as every super hero we've grown up on our whole life.
But Trigun removes the mystery by explaining Vash's past, and how the one person he
loved would never wish harm on anyone. Thus Vash is constantly reminded to do the
'right' thing.
Artwork:
The artwork is really sharp. But, alas, it is like all those other anime and manga out
there. Some scenes may be greatly detailed, then some, are really a couple of lines
and a big white space here and there. The covers are inventive, the 'real' cover shows
stylish artwork here and there, while the inside cover is a little parody of the outside
cover.

Character Designs: A
Artwork: B+
Overall: A-
Personal
Opinion: I was expecting it to be longer, now I am to wonder, is the anime
series one big filler? Or does it carry on to the manga's sequel, Trigun Maximum?
But since those bastards at Pioneer put three fucking episodes a fucking DVD, I don't
know if I'll ever find out...
