Budokai 2 Featured In GamePro Magazine
Posted by
Master Roshi on 07-19-2003 15:23
Hey everyone, sorry I haven't been posting lately. My best friend is moving to Dallas and my other best friend and I have been trying to spend time with him. We've known eachother for 4 years, so it's a pretty big change for us. But anyway...onto some DBZ news...

GamePro recently featured Budokai 2 in it's magazine. They basically stated all of it's major changes from the original Budokai. The major changes are the graphics (which are now cel-shaded, to make the game look cartoon-like), the storyline which is now more in-depth, and there is one new mode added to the line up of gameplay modes. The mode is Dragon Mode. From what the magazine states, in Dragon Mode, you are appointed the task of forming a Z-Squad of 5 characters and search for the DragonBalls against other teams of A.I. The first to collect all of the DragonBalls wins. Also, as if that isn't enough, Atari and Dimp have been generous enough to enable fusions. Basically, we have the choice to fuse with characters, famous to the DBZ title such as Gotenks, Gogeta, and Vegetto. But in addition to that, we can fuse with other characters as well. For example, Tien and Yamcha will be able to fuse (supposedly, but then again it might just be an example that the writers used). But yeah, that's the basic gist of things in Budokai 2. There are a total of 34 characters in this title, adding 9 more characters (non-fusion) to the original arsenal of 23. The 9 characters are: Goten, Young Trunks, Teen Gohan, Videl, Majin Vegeta, Supreme Kai, Dabura, Android 20, and three forms of Buu. So expect alot from Dragonball Z - Budokai 2. Remember, it hits stores in December 2003. From the looks of it, it'll be worth the wait. That's all for now. I'll probably type up the two pages of the GamePro article or maybe scan the pages. Later everyone.

Getting up to date with Link Submissions
Posted by
tennis_man45 on 07-18-2003 23:45
First note that it is not too late to give me a link submssion. This is merely to state which sites were accepted so far out of all those who have sent me (before 11:30 ET Thurs night), so those annoying people will stop asking, "Was I accepted? Was I accepted?". Anyway maybe it will give you a feel of what kind of sites we accept.

SaiyanEra
UltraSuperSaiyan
DBUniverse
TheSaiyanElite
Genki-Dama

Everything else was not accepted . And I repeat it is not too late to submit I will be taking submissions for about another full week.

Also, starting July 26th CNX will show the entire DBZ series consectutively for 3 weekends. Thanks KijiAnime

First Website Review
Posted Monday, July 14, 2003 by Master Roshi
Last night, about ten minutes or so after posting, I received a request (damn, that was fast!). Surprisingly, this site doesn't get as much lime-light as it should. This website is absolutely outstanding.

www.saiyanera.tk

It contains tons of useful information, etc. My first impression upon arriving at this website was 'Wow, great layout.' But looking at everything they have, they can do better. Considering the amount of content they have, a more outstanding layout can only do them good. Also, they run on GeoCities (not a good thing), but that's ok because of the quality of the website. But I would definetly suggest buying your own server. GeoCities isn't the greatest (especially if you're running on a free account). Don't have enough money to buy your own server? You can keep your website on GeoCities and display ads and popups to make money, enough for you to get your own server. Also, people pay good money for professional layouts, so if you have a graphics guy that's willing to help you make money, refer to him for help. All in all, this is a great website, that definetly deserves more spotlight and more hits. Pay a visit to the SaiyanEra!

Website Reviews/Need more ideas!
Posted Sunday, July 13, 2003 by Master Roshi
Hey everyone...News is slow these days. So I guess to lighten the mood a bit, I'll be searching for smaller websites with a good amount of accurate information, media, etc., and reviewing them. I'll be posting a paragraph about the site and what they should improve on, along with a link to their site. In addition, depending on what the site needs, I may help them out in a way or two. I haven't started looking for sites just yet, so if you want your site to be reviewed, e-mail me and let me know. I can't do a million at once, remember that I'll only be selecting one to do every week.

Now, with that out of the way, we need more fan submissions for our new humor section! And we're still debating over a title. C'mon people, we need some help here! We'll give you credit for the title if you come up with one for us and we use it, because we are having one hell of a time figurin' one out. We may post a poll about it later. We also need more content. I can't keep up the way I am. If you have at least have any IDEAS for content (i.e. 'if goku were to pick up a music career...')at least, please submit it.

Link Submissions, Mix-Up Submissions...
Posted Sunday, July 13, 2003 by tennis_man45
Link Submissions
If you'd like us to link to your DBZGT or anime site, please submit to ME:

1. Website Title
2. URL
3. Short Description
4. Site Category (General/Character/Multimedia/Pictures/Misc. Site)
5. Make the subject of the email, "Link Submission"

Here are the guidelines:
-There must be no hentai/adult content on your site.
-It must be a site dealing with Dragonball Z or anime.
-It must be YOUR SITE. If you are just a staff member of the site we won't link to you unless we hear from the webmaster also.
-It must be a website that meets with our standards.
-You must link to us as well, if we link to you.

Mix-Ups Submissions
I think I have only gotten two emails so far, PLEASE send me anything you can think up:
I am currently working on the Dragonball Mix-Ups section, a section which goes through any possible plot holes or difficulties in dragonball. If anyone thinks that he may know a few "plot holes", email me and I will give you credit as long as it is not in this site's section already or currently on my list, which has about 10 so far. Also, don't send me something insignificant like, "In one scene Vegeta's outfit was blue although it should have been black". For good examples, look at these

Shonen Jump Graphic Novels
Posted Saturday, July 12, 2003 by Tapion
In the July issue of Shonen Jump, there is a long article about the roots of Rurouni Kenshin, and how it got started in the weekly Jump Comics of Japan. VIZ is supposedly releasing graphic novels of all the Shonen Jump mangas. Including Yu Yu Hakusho, SandLand, Yu Gi Oh!, and the already released Dragon Ball Z novels.
Don't worry, I'll hopefully have better news later...plus I sent Kevin my "DBZ Gods & Deities" guide. As soon as he puts it up, I'll have a link to it and you guys can check it out.

NOT IN ORIGINAL POST - For the plot summary of the DB/Z live action movie CLICK HERE. So much for keeping 80% of the plot intact, more like 20%...

Basically it's like this: Bardock sends Goku to Earth as a baby, and he is the only pod not vaporized by...something. He is discovered by a bunch of monks and they train him. After a while they send him and Krillen to train with Roshi the greatest master of all time. After training with him for a while, they hear reports that Piccolo is destroying cities to take over the world. In a big fight Krilln dies protecting Goku but the combined force of Goku and Roshi is enough to defeat Piccolo. Goku and Bulma go on a whole search for the dragonballs after this to restore Krillen, after Roshi gets his friend Dr. Briefs to fund the trip.
10 years later there is a Budokai with Goku, Tenshinhan, Yamcha, Krillen, and Bulma somehow all in it (I'm sure they'll change that lol). Piccolo is in it too. Suddenly a Saiyan space pod crashes nearby and Goku and Piccolo run off to see the problem. The rest of the Raditz storyline is followed pretty well. In 2 years the Saiyans show up and fight the heroes. Goku beats Nappa in his first fight after returning from other world. Then he fights Vegeta and it's close, but Vegeta goes Oozaru and is winning. Goku is almost dead but his tail grows back and he goes Oozaru too. After a long supposedly dramatic fight Goku wins and THE END.

Well previously, in the back of my mind, I held on to a glimmer of hope that this might by some miracle be good, but so much for that. Email me with any comments.

New Humor Yet To Be Titled
Posted Thursday, July 10, 2003 by Master Roshi
The new humor section has still not been named yet, but we're rackin' our brains trying to work something out. I don't know about tennis man, but I'm thinking along the lines of "If they were to..." So far I've received a few submissions and ideas for the page. Also, I've come up with a few pictures (that I made). I'm going to post one as soon as I can get it uploaded as kind of a 'teaser' to let you know what's in store for you guys.

Also, I got my hands on Legacy of Goku 2! It's a pretty good game, reminding me of the Zelda 'Oracle' games. I'm not done yet, I've barely even begun to get into the long storyline. You probably already know that I'll be posting a review for that once I finish. If I spend as much time as I do playing it now for a while, you'll see the review up here in about two weeks or so, along with the three DBZ saga summaries that were left incomplete, and the new humor section. So that's just an idea of what you should expect to see in the next 2-3 weeks. Keep checking back for more updates!

EDIT: I've gotten the preview picture uploaded to a temporary server. Click here to see it. It's kind of marked up with text to prevent leechers. Of course, when the non-previews come along, they'll be clear of any text but the credit to me saying '-roshan-dbzgtlegacy.com-' Fans, enjoy the preview of things to come! Any questions, comments, or constructive critisism are very welome, just e-mail me.
