Information: The Universe: North Galaxy
 North Galaxy:
Most of the action in the DBZGT series take place in and around this galaxy and the only information that anyone has is on this galaxy. The other galaxies are not that well known and little info is available. But that is also partly because the Saiyans, under Frieza, destroy many of the planets in other galaxies. It has been known that in Movie #8, another system is involved. This galaxy is ruled by North Dai Kaio and the other four lesser Kaios who overlook their respective quadrants and live on their own small planets in heaven.
Following given are the well-known planets that are introduced during the series:
Arlia:
This is the first outer planet introduced and seen in the Dragonball Z Series. Vegeta and nappa land on this planet while on their way to earth. This planet has a small resemblance to Mars in its outer color. The environment is good for life, but inhabitants are of a race of small insect-like creatures. They are controlled by an evil unjust ruler. Vegeta and Nappa free the creatures from their slavery, but then they blow the whole planet up with vegeta's Galick Gun attack.
Arlia's Moon:
This is Arlias one and only moon. Unfortunately it dies along with the rest of the planet. Not much known about it and its environment.
Earth:
Yes, this is Earth, the home planet of all our Z fighters except Vegeta and Goku. Earth is a medium-sized planet with all the favourable conditions for life and plants to flourish. It has water, one of the important substances for life to flourish. It is placed at a medium distance from the Sun so that the temperature is neither too hot nor too cold. It has one moon, information about which is given below. Its also the home for the dragonballs created by Kami. It is guarded by a guardian who lives on a floating Lookout high above the earth. All of the Dragonball series and Z is spent on Earth except for a few times when they have to go elsewhere. A World Martial Arts Tournament is held to test people's strength and endurance.
Earth's Moon:
Earth's moon, not shown much at all during the series ecept for the first few episodes. Its destroyed by Piccolo in a desperate attempt to stop Gohan's ape-transformation. Moon is destroyed, but it was only part of the problem. The other part was Gohans tail.
Old Namek:
The home planet of all Nameks, this is a distant planet, almost 6 months away from Earth if travelling in an ordinary rocket. It is almost the same size as Old Vegeta except for a weaker gravity field. This planet is invaded by Frieza and his henchemen as they come searching for the Dragonballs. The planet is destroyed during the fight between Super Saiyan Goku and Frieza. The planet has three suns and one sun is always up. Therefore, there is no night. A terrible storm once hit Old Namek and all its luscious vegetation was destroyed. The only survivor was Guru and he rebuilt the planet once again and planted all the trees that were destroyed. It also has two moons. Its first moon inhabits slow four legged creatures with a beak. Its second moon has strange sponge like forms.
Old Vegeta:
The home planet of all Saiyans as well as the Tsufuru-jins, Old Vegeta is larger than the other planets and also has a immense gravity field. Its inhabited by the neanderthal-like Saiya-jins and the intelligent Tsufuru-jins. The Saiyans like to fight and they dislike the Tsufuru-jins. On the other hand, the tsufuru-jins are advanced in technology, but are physically weak and don't stand a chance against the Saiyans. The Saiya-jins take advantage of the planet's single moon and transforn into apes and destroy the Tsufuru-jins. Frieza hires the Saiyans to do his dirty work and later destroys Old Vegeta when he finds the Saiyans becoming a threat to his own existence. But he lies to Vegeta telling him that a meteor crashed into Old Vegeta and destroyed it.
Dark Star:
The home of Babidi's minion, Yakon, this planet is at the far end of the galaxy and the sun's light doesn't reach here. Therefore, this planet is isolated and also desolated. The inhabitants of this planet are adapted to this darkness and use it for their own advantage. Considering that all the creatures were similar to Yakon, then Drak Star would be inhabited by large and fast four-legged carnivorous creatures with the ability to eat light and also to see through darkness.
 Meat:
This is another planet that is introduced before Dragonball. Bradock and his team annihilate the inhabitants and also Dodoria slaughters Bardock's crew here. The planet was inhabited by intelligent creatures and thus they were wiped off by coomand of Frieza.
New Namek:
Since the Nameks old homeplanet was destroyed, the Z fighters wish to the Dragoballs for a new home for the Nameks. New Namek is very much like the Old Namek except that it has only one sun. The Ghetti Star attaches itself to the planet in Movie #6 thus scarring its face.
Ghetti Star:
Its a huge living machine which gains power by sapping energy from living beings and also by assimilating machines. It travels planet to planet searching for more and more anergy and attaches itself to New Namek in Movie #6. It also comes along Coolers remains, but eventually its destroyed by Goku and Vegeta.
Frieza # 79:
Another one of Frieza's base of operation, this is the only one that is introduced in the series. The Ginyu force are stationed here along with a few others including vegeta and Kui. Nothing much is shown about it after Friezas defeat on Namek.
Yardrat:
After the fight on Namek, just when Namek is about to explode, Goku finds a Ginyu pod and barely escapes. However he lands on an alien planet, Yardrat, which is inhabited by a starnge group of people with the ability of telepathy. They later teach Goku the trick of Instant Transmission without travelling through time.
Makyo Star:
The homeplanet of Garic and his son, the planet passes very close to Earth every few thousand years. When near his homeplanet, Garlic Jr. has a lot of power. But the planet is destoyed by Gohan later on.
Lord Slug's ship:
Lord Slug, a cunning guy, invades other planets and uses them as his modes of transportaion. Same way, he comes to Earth and tries to use it too, but is stopped by the Z fighters and his current planet/ship is destroyed.
Zun:
Pui Pui's homeplanet, the planet is dry and almost completely deserted. The surface of the planet is scarred with craters just like moon and on distant view, it resembles moon except its larger. The gravity is 10 times that of earth and the inhabitants try to take advantage of this, but Pui Pui soon understand that 10 times gravity is a piece of cake for the Z fighters.
Konats:
Only shown in the movies, this is the homeplanet of Tapion and his brother, Miniosha. The planet is terrorized by the evil demon, Hildegarn. After the demon is trapped within the two brothers, they are sent to two sides of the universe. But later, Tapion lands on Earth and he is afraid of the terror inside his body. This is one planet that never was destroyed during the series.
