R A C E S - N A M E K H Y P O T H E S I S
Written by Greg Sasaki
An interesting hypothesis on Nameks.
My friend and I was talking about them and I came to the conclusion that they are possibly a
plant-based lifeform. Thanks to Greg Sasaki for this.
Consider this:
|-- Survival:
They only need water to survive.
Some plants need nothing more than water and sunshine to survive.
I never saw what could happen to a Namek if he were to go a long time without sunlight
(about a week's worth). Also, they have greenish blood.
This could mean that their cells are photosynthesis-based.
|-- Appearance:
If one thinks about it, the arms and legs of a Nameck look very much like plant fibers.
|-- No gender:
Plants are asexual (or could be considered as such) and reproduce via seeds.
Which brings me to...
|-- The Namek eggs:
Some plants (Ex: lima beans) produce seeds that when looked at from a cross-section,
are very much like eggs. The seed has a temporary food source for the sprout
(a solid yolk of sorts), a skin (i.e. soft shell), and the small newborn plant.
|-- Regeneration:
It has been noted that trees can survive acts of dismemberment that would kill a human being,
as well as are capable of regenerating limbs. Nameks can do this process really fast and on a
conscious level. This appears to be also tied with their reproductive function, as they seem
to be able to produce eggs at will.
|-- Growth & Ageing:
Nameks are extremely long lived.
Some of Earth's trees are hundreds of years old.
This could also explain why the Elder (Guru) was so huge (think: giant redwood).
Enough about Nameks now something about Saiyans.
A Fact:
It has been stated that a Saiyan can live in excess of 1000 years.
I don't know about that, but they seem to be a very long-lived race.
Vegeta also makes the comment that after a Saiyan matures, his hair stops growing,
remaining in same way for the rest of the Saiyan's life. COOL HUH?
SSJ Gohan special case:
Gohan is a special case as far as the SSJ stages go. He is quite capable of achieving SSJ-1, but never seems to reach the overly muscled SSJ-2 stage.
However, before destroying Perfect Cell in the Cell Saga, he does assume the long spiky-haired look of someone who has reached Stage 2.
It is likely that Gohan (and others) can assume a transitional Stage (Stage 2.5?) between 2 and 3 that reduces the muscle mass back down and doesn't cause agility problems.
It is also possible that Goku, Vegeta and Trunks didn't quite reach Stage 2 properly, hence the overly increased muscle mass.

-SPIRITED AWAY
-Release Date: April 15, 2003
- So what the hell is this thing that won soooo many nominations and awards? Glad you asked, so I better explain. The girl on the cover of the DVD is Chihiro. Her parents and her have just moved to a new town, but get lost along the way. Her father ends up taking a wrong turn into what appears to be a deserted amusement park. While investigating, Chihiro's parents find a food stand and beginning eating, but get turned into giant pigs! Chihiro's family has stumbled across a spirit vacation resort, a place forbidden to humans. Chihiro is forced to work in this resort or her parents will be killed. However, there is a lot more to this story, and I cannot simply sum it up here in this small space, so I strongly recommend you pruchase this DVD when its hits stores. There is even some Oscar talk about this movie. For more info on this anime just click Here and read up. Pre-order!
