Subject: Spirited Still Sailing Posted on June 9, 2003, 5:13 pm -=- By {-Tenks-} -While the post-Oscar theatrical release of Spirited Away has run out of steam at around $10 million in gross box office revenues, the Miyazaki Oscar-winner continues to generate sales through DVD and PPV, keeping interest high. Over 400,000 units of the film were sold so far, according to ICv2, which puts the DVD revenue well over the theatrical release, and bodes well for continued interest in the merchandise. Spirited Away is going into PPV distribution in June, and the color manga, color art book and children's book are all available. Source: Kiji Anime Spirited Away is a nice anime. Subject: Animatrix Dominating Anime Sales Posted on June 9, 2003, 5:07 pm -=- By {-SzR-} -The Animatrix, the Wachowski brothers' animated companions to their Matrix trilogy, was a smash hit in the retail market this week. The title kept up with other video juggernauts, such as Die Another Day and the Terminator 2 re-release. Depending on how titles like Spirited Away and Cowboy Bebop: The Movie close out the year in retail, The Animatrix may be the top selling anime of 2003. Source: ANN -=-SzR. First of that is the official poster for the movie located to the left of this article. I have seen this movie also known as Knocking on Heavens Door. I enjoyed it and most Bebop fans do. in fact it held the #1 spot in Japan for a long time. This movie is promoted by Sony who oddly enough hasn't made any attempt to cross promote it with any TV Series. No matter this is another Anime that will show main stream movie companies that America wants more Anime placed on the big screen. So Whats it about? Well here is a brief summary. Faye kinda is catapolted into a big mess when she is trying to capture this Hacker and ends up watching this tanker explode killing a bunch of people but more impotantly a Virus is released that stems from this exploding tanker. The Government places this high reward for the capture of the criminal and Faye is one of the only people who seen him. Of course Spike joins in for the bounty that leads him to Maroccan Street where he meets a man who gives him important information. At this point Spike also meets this veil woman. Well not revealing to much they find out that this virus can multiply itself and self destruct. Stuff happen on a train and a woman survives and is not affected by the virus. They analyze her blood to see why she is not infected. They create an anti virus and try to release it over the city. I won't say more you gotta watch it. -=SzR=-  Want to get the latest news  about the following sites:  -Saiyanz Rage  -DBZGTLegacy  -DBGT Network  -Animega  !! Then sign-up below !!
