New Toonami Releases
According to the DBZ Network, Toonami have 2 new programs scheduled to air soon in America, and no, neither of them are Dragonball, which has been moved back yet again...
Here's the Dragonball date news:
"According to some very credible sources, CNX Toonami in particular, the Toonami premiere of Dragon Ball will be moved to late August. This hasn't been officially announced as of yet and we don't know the exact date in which Dragon Ball will be launched. I am assuming FUNimation and Cartoon Network want to keep the public excited about the July 23rd launch date so we don't lose interest. I don't expect either parties to make this annoucement very quickly if this information does happen to be true."
Well, hopefully this isn't true, as they've been 'polishing' it up for a long time now, and my personal opinion is that if they spend any more time on this then the chances are that they'll end up losing the publics interest, and having the series disappoint due to the increasing hype being created. And the two extra programs on Toonami:
"Cartoon Network will add two new series to the Toonami programming block in July. Mobile Suit Gundam will premiere at 5 p.m. (ET, PT) during the afternoon action-adventure block on July 23 and later that night, 08th MS Team will premiere at 12 midnight (ET, PT), July 24, during Toonami Midnight Run.
Mobile Suit Gundam takes place in the year Universal Century 0079 while the Earth Federation and its space colonies are engaged in an apocalyptic war. The rebellious Principality of Zeon, using humanoid fighting machines called mobile suits, has all but vanquished the Federation. Now the Federation's last hope is the prototype mobile, mechanized battle-armor Gundam. When a twist of fate makes young civilian Amuro Ray the Gundam's pilot - his own battle begins - a struggle not only for the Federation's survival, but for his own.
08th MS Team (October U.C. 0079 - January U.C. 0080) Federation Lt. Shiro Amada is transferred from the Space Unit to the Ground Unit, where he ends up leading the 08th MS team, a troubled group full of misfits and rogues. The Zeon Secret Weapon Development Unit has a base close to the 08th MS Team’s station. Aina Saharin, a female pilot, is the test pilot of this threatening secret. She and Shiro have met before, when they were both adrift alone in space."
That sounds interesting, and if Mobile Suit Gundam is anything like Gundam Wing, then everyone is in for a huge treat. 08th MS Team looks pretty cool as well, and personally I hope they come over to the UK too.
Well, go visit DBZ Network to have a look at their latest feature, showing their site from past to present, it's amazing how much it has come along.
