DBZ and Capcom?
Back in late 2001 when this whole fuss about a new DBZ Videogame started there were many enthusiasts begging FUNimation for their favorite game developers to get the license. Capcom, Namco, Square, and so many other names were thrown around.. I'm going to have to say that the most popular was Capcom thanks to the job it's done with the Next-Generation Street Fighter games. I personally would prefer a 2D/3D Fighter similar to Dragonball GT: Final only with less glitches, however Bandai is of course out of the picture. Anyway, I was just searchin' around the internet following my post-christmas breakfast and guess what
I found? A strange website called: Aintitcool.com had these to say about the next-generation DBZ Console entertainment effort:
"Capcom on Dragon Ball?
Capcom, makers of the popular Street Fighter games series are rumored working on a Dragonball game that would likely to be a 3D shooting action type game, similar to their Gundam arcade game recently released. > > > >"
Now, onto what I have to say about this "breaking news". First of all I'm going to say that I don't believe it one bit. It has already been CONFIRMED that Infogrames has the license to make these Dragonball Z videogames and they have already moved against other projects that were being done by fans. I also know that many branches of Infogrames have already started to develop games for PS2 and GBA. Does this mean that it isn't possible that Capcom can't make the game? No. The James Bond license was handed out to multiple developers. If I recall, the 007 games for N64 were done by RARE while the 007 games for the PS1 were done by EA. So, keep your eyes open for more news on it. But, for now I am saying this is ONLY a RUMOR. I also believe it's just a RUMOR because there is no trace of information about it at the main Capcom site, they don't even have mention of it in the press release section. But, I would definitely like to see a Capcom developed Fighter though they're saying "3D Shooter"... and... um that doesn't sound too interesting.
In closing, 2 things:
1. DO NOT EMAIL OR INSTANT MESSAGE ME ABOUT THIS, I DON'T HAVE ANY INFORMATION.
2. THIS IS ONLY A RUMOR
