Well, now that Frieza is out of the way, earth is safe again, and everyone is back to living their happy lives, until there is a disturbance at Kami's lookout. A being comes and takes over Kami's lookout, trapping Kami and Mr Popo in little glass jars. This villain's name is garlic Jr. He wants to keep Kami alive because he needs him alive to use the dragonballs. Garlic Jr then spreads a black mist all over the earth to make everything that smells it evil. Whoever smells the mist has their inner evil released, and they act on their impulses. The entire earth becomes evil, and everyone starts smashing stuff and killing each other. everyone except for the people that live in rural areas, such as master roshi, Piccolo, and Gohan's family.

They all meet at master roshi's and as chichi is on her way to master roshi's she gets infected. When Gohan gets there everyone is infected, so they all start attacking him. He doesn't want to fight any of them so he tries to dodge them as soon as possible, but eventually he has to fight back and knock them out. He Krillin and piccolo all come together, and as piccolo is helping, he gets bitten by Yamcha which infects piccolo. Making piccolo evil. The rest of Garlic Jr's gang shows up at the scene, and they take piccolo back to the lookout so that he may join their team. Gohan and Krillin follow in hopes of saving piccolo.

When they get there they find out that the only way to stop and reverse the effects of the blackwater mist, which is the name of the black mist that is making everyone go mad is to get a special counter elixir and pour it from the lookout down to the earth below. So as Kami and Mr Popo go deep into the lookout in search of this light water they must pass through the graveyard of past guardians of the earth, and as Kami almost gets taken They barley escape. Back on top of the lookout Gohan and Krillin prepare for battle against the evil doers. There are 4 of them against Gohan and Krillin, and Piccolo is on the bad side also. So as Gohan takes out one of the henchmen, Piccolo steps in and begins fighting against Gohan. As Piccolo and Gohan are fighting, the others look on, and try to join in, but suddenly piccolo turns sides and takes out one of the evil ones. He then goes off to find and finish off garlic Jr.

Gohan is the one that locked Garlic Jr into the endless void before, so now that Garlic Jr has come back he wants Gohan especially dead. But the only reason that he did come back was because of a special star that gives him his power, and therefore allowed him to escape his eternal prison. Gohan and Krillin take on the other henchmen, and as Krillin gets thrown around like a rag doll, Gohan sees this and becomes angry that his friend is in pain, and therefore takes out the rest of the henchmen. Piccolo faces off against Garlic Jr and as they are fighting Piccolo is annihilating, until garlic Jr grows big, and starts turning the tables, but it seems that Piccolo has been toying this entire time also, so he also powers up and grows bigger, and finally after a few exchanges in blows Piccolo gains the upper hand. But seeing as he is unable to kill Garlic Jr since he is immortal, there isn't much he can do.

Garlic Jr opens up the void again in hopes of trapping Gohan and the others in it, but Gohan puts up a shield that protects them from being sucked in, but he cannot hold it forever, and after a while he grows weaker. After a nice speech from Krillin and piccolo, Gohan gets enraged, and lets down the shield, and launches a Ki attack at Garlic Jr pushing him into the void, and closing it behind him. Piccolo had destroyed the star that gave Garlic Jr his power, so that he will never be able to escape again. Kami and Mr Pop finally come back from the depths of the lookout, with the cure water, and as they release it all over the earth everything goes back to normal, and the people are cured. Everyone goes back to their everyday lives, and evil is vanquished once again. Krillin gets a new girlfriend, and Gohan goes back to his studying, as piccolo goes back to his training. But the question remains where is Goku, and is he ever going to come back. Vegeta is hopping planet from planet in search of Goku so that he may learn the secret of becoming a super saiyan, and to finally finish him off.
