Before Starting a Web site...
So you want to start a web site. This page is here for a reason, and if you want to start a web site then this page is your new best friend. Starting a web site isn't
as hard as it seems. Those web sites out there with amazing layouts, and amazing content that you THINK are all big and bad. Really aren't. Not to shut down anyone's
hard work and pride, but those web sites out there are really not all that hard to do yourself. Yes it is hard work to get popular, but to actually make the web site
isn't too hard. Before you get started the most important thing you will need is a computer, and seeing as to the fact that you are reading this. Means you have
a computer. But then again this is for those who are in the stores and are on one of those free-trial computers, or those who are at a friends house who do not
have a computer. The most important thing you need is constant access to a stable computer, which means that you probably should avoid getting it infected with spy ware
and viruses which come from programs such as Kazaa, and iMesh. But that is all common sense. Webmasters in their stupidity still do it however, and they do not realize
that anything that you need to find on Kazaa, or any other P2P search program can be found on the Internet. You just have to look right. Back on topic. Once you have
a reliable computer in which you can get to and work on your web site you have to ask yourself. What do i want to make the web site about. It's quite an easy step
so you should probably get that pretty fast. For some people it might take days, or even years, but it's easy to follow.
Are You Committed?
The most common mistake that people make these days is that they get all hyped up about making web sites, and then they go out and buy all these $800 programs, and
install them on their computer. Then they try the programs out, and realize that it's too hard to learn how to work them and quit. So the most important or one of the
most important things you have to get through your head, is to make a web site first and then see if you are really committed, and if it really is the thing for you,
if you feel that going out and buying more advanced web-design programs is necessary, then go ahead, I'm not telling you to buy anything. But the most important
thing is that you must be committed to what you do. If you open a really great web site, and be around for 1 year, and get fans into the web site, and everyone loves
it and all the sudden you close the site and delete everything in it, then the fans don't like that. So if you try to open the site up again, it is twice as hard,
which is exactly what SSS Cinemas is trying to do.
Learning HTML
After you decide that you're committed, you should do the most frightening thing there is in web design, and that is learn HTML. Trust me it isn't that hard.
Especially if you're committed. If you're committed the HTML just flows right into your life, and you learn it as you go. And once you get past this you will be
all set to make your very first web site. HTML is a MUST in web design. You can try to go to those web sites that offer page makers, and free web tools. But those
just pollute your page with useless pop-ups and total trash when it comes to coding so that your page turns out to be 10 times the size that it usually is supposed
to be, and a quick loading web site is a happy web site. So make the layout and pages as good but as fast loading as you can. Even if you do make a test web site
using those programs, no matter what even if you want to go further then a basic layout, and a few links, you will HAVE to learn HTML no matter what. So you might
as well learn it quickly at the beginning instead of torturing yourself later on in life.
what is Left?
After you've learned HTML, and gotten ready to make a web site to which you already know what it is going to be about. You should just play around a bit and get more
familiar with the way things are. You should also get involved with the community you are interested in. All the Internet is divided into basic divisions such as
Anime, Gaming, Movies, Business, Personal, Pornographic, Sales, so on, and so forth. Once you get involved in which ever community you choose, mind that i did
not list the entire list of options, but you will know who you are, because you should choose yourself as to what you want to do before looking at the list,
and whatever you choose, will most definitely fall into the list of divisions. After you know where you are, you should get familiar with who the big dogs in that
community are. Like for example, in the Gaming community it might be Gamespot, or in the Business community it might be Microsoft, ect...Once you've pointed out
the big dogs, you should pick one as a rival, and you do whatever you can to ascend them. that is how you get really good really fast. Just take one piece of very
valid advice do not get caught up in copying content, or products from copyrighted web sites, or else you will be in really big trouble. You're actually ready to
move on now, so if you've done all the above, you can proceed to reading the next pard of web design which is labelled "Starting a Web site", where you will learn
the basics or starting your new web site, and some great places to host it at for free, or for a fee. You will also get some pointers, and some quick advice on things
to shoot for and things to avoid.
