Why Sen should be god
This editorial came to me at the very last second, at first i was going to use something from the forums that caught my attention, but then again i thought why not use this
instead, I'm sure I'll get plenty more hate mail from this one because of it's blasphemous properties. He he, anyway, we were talking about things in class about this
topic, and i thought I'd just bring about some flaws of the human "everyday god figure" first of all, the entire idea of free will. I was told that free will is being
able to make a choice. Well if that is all that free will is, then what if one does not want to make a choice. What if one does not want to have to be forced to pick
between option A and option B. Is that still free will? when you are forced to choose between 2 options? The entire idea behind life itself, and the whole "godly figure"
no matter what religion, is the idea of choice. The choice to either follow your god, or not to follow him, if you follow him, there are the benefits, and consequences,
and if you don't follow him there are also the benefits and consequences. Does this sound much like free will to you? So far to me it does, but wait a little bit more,
and let me tear this entire concept apart right before your eyes. You see, if you're sitting in a bar or something. Having a good time, and a man walks in giving you
2 options. Option A: You get captured and tortured for your entire life. Option B: You get captured, and taken to paradise, where you have to worship someone your entire
life. Now, I'm sure you can say to me, "Oh this story too much resembles the Christian God" well, that is how it basically is with every god. Some may disagree, but I've
done my homework, so i know what I'm talking about.
Back to those options. You see, you are trapped, you can't do anything but choose between those 2 options. So in a way it is free will, but if free will is the power
to be able to choose between one thing or another, then why is it that you can't choose to just get up and walk out of that bar, and never see that guy again. You see
you are FORCED to make a decision right there on the spot. You are forced to do something, which goes against the idea of free will. that is how it is in life. Everyone
knows that there is some sort of authority figure above them, no matter who it might be, there is in everyone the idea that there is a greater being somewhere out there.
So the choice remains weather to follow them or not to follow them, and there is no way you can escape that choice, you aren't allowed to say "oh well i don't really
want to follow you, and i don't really NOT want to follow you, i just want to go over here and do my own little thing, and just have nothing to do with any of this" I tell
NO, you cannot do this, and to some hard core believers out there it's just pure blasphemy, but they have already made the choice that they were FORCED to make. You see
we are blinded from the truth. What truth you ask, the truth that we are all slaves to our own ideas of free will, no one out there has any imagination anymore, everyone
just does what their buddy does, we're all just sheep following one another, no one will actually take the time to stop and think about what the heck is going on. Well
I'm sure you can call those people "fools with no lives" but considering that it only took me about 2 hours to write this editorial, i think i pretty much have a life
outside this "hobby"
Well that is one reason why i should be god, there are a few more, but the main thing is that i would give the people actual free will, meaning they would be able to do
whatever they wanted. Even if the choice didn't exist, they would still be able to pick it. They wouldn't have to be forced to do anything, they wouldn't have to be
forced to choose between two alter-egos. They could just go off and do whatever they want, i would be god so what would i care, if i wanted i could whip them all
out with the snap of a finger. I wouldn't want anyone to worship me unless they really wanted to, i wouldn't force them to choose either to worship me or not to worship me
i personally wouldn't care what they did. The only reason I'd even create people would probably be to see what happens. I'd give then free will, and i mean true free will
and I'd just sit there and see what happens. But then again if i was god i would have the power to know everything that is about to happen, and it wouldn't be too much
fun, so i would probably just deny myself that power for a little bit until i get bored of watching the galactic chess game. I'd probably create a sparring partner who
has about my abilities, sort of like the Christian idea of God and Satan. But I'd make the Satan figure a bit stronger, just so i could have more of a challenge, you
know what i mean. But then even after that I'm sure it'd get quite boring so I'd just go back to watching my chess game, and all that. I'd probably go in and show myself
in disguise, and freak a few people out, maybe sort of like the stuff some of the magicians do, but I'd do it much better.
I'd probably make it like an RPG, where everyone starts off at a low level, and they have to go around battling each other and crap to get stronger. And if not, then
I'd make it like pokemon or something where they can catch little dudes, and fight against each other. But i like the RPG idea better, because eventually there would be
people that are so strong, their power would be infinite, and they might even be able to take me out. It's basically like an enormous game of chess, where you just
sit back and watch everything unfold. Then I'd probably record what happens and sell the dvd to other gods in the area or something. I'd probably be the only god out there,
so just for fun I'd probably make a few other gods, so i could have like a council. I'd make other planets with other life on them, and I'd sort of make it like a star trek
sort of scenario where there's all these races, and they're all going around killing each other. Or something like star craft, where it's basically the same idea. If
I was god I'd be able to do anything i wanted, and therefore to make it fair I'd let my creation do anything they wanted. Because you want to talk about free will well,
that is true free will, the power to do anything you want, without being limited, or restricted.
Vote Sen Masenko for god!
