The next few episodes are quite pointless, and do not add anything to the overall story line, but the gang basically gets the idea from Mr Popo, that there are alternate means of getting the dragonballs back. They have to travel to a planet named Namek, where the original namekians made the dragonballs. Kami and Piccolo are namekians, and therefore it would only make sense to go to their home planet. So Krillin, Gohan and Bulma get into a namekian ship that Mr Popo led them to, this was the ship used by Kami when he came to earth. And they launched off into space. While in space, they encounter lots of various enemies and surprises. One of which being 2 aliens who pretended to be namekians and made a display of the entire planet making it seem as if they were on namek, but they really weren't. Our heroes however, managed to escape the aliens who wanted to eat them. Back in space they travelled a bit more until they finally reached namek. Back on earth Goku still in the hospital, tries to escape the doctors, because he really hated needles, so he goes to train once he is able to move, but he pushes it to far, and only makes his newly healed injuries even worse, and since there are no senzu beans ready for a while, Goku has to heal the old fashioned way.

Vegeta has now fully recovered, and when he hears of his boss Frieza's plans to become immortal by using the namekian dragonballs, he flies off into space angry because he wants to become immortal also. Back on Namek, Gohan Bulma, and Krillin explore around only to find Frieza and his gang terrorizing a bunch of nameks and their village looking for dragonballs. Frieza demands that they hand over their dragonball, but the nameks refuse. So one of Frieza's henchmen takes them out with ease, and the rest of the nameks agree to hang it over, but when they come out with the dragonball the Gohan and Krillin see that the dragonballs on namek are much bigger then the ones on earth. They are about soccer-ball size. Back on earth, the senzu beans are finally finished and Goku eats one to recover back to full strength, and health. He also takes the rest of the senzu beans with him, and gets on a space ship that Dr. Briefs designed from what he could gather a saiyan space pod was built out of. He put in an artificial gravity machine so that Goku could train while he was flying in space, because the trip would take a while, so might as well train while flying there.

Vegeta finally lands on Namek, and as he emerges he senses a powerful Ki near him so he flies over to it. It turns out that it is one of Frieza's henchmen names Kewi. Vegeta and Kewi exchange a few words, and Kewi, thinking that Vegeta is still weaker then him digs himself into a really deep hole, because Vegeta is now much more powerful then he was before he fought on earth. So when they actually start fighting, Vegeta annihilates Kewi without even breaking a sweat, and sends him into the next dimension. Gohan and Krillin witness a namekian child about to be beat on, and Gohan can't take it anymore, so he rushes from behind their hiding place, and strikes one of Frieza's henchmen in the head. He grabs the child and flies off at full speed followed by Krillin, and eventually the henchmen that was on the receiving end of the blow. When they are about to be caught Krillin stops in mid air and uses a solar flare to blind the henchman. While the henchman (dadoria) is blinded, Gohan and Krillin along with the namekian child (dende) take this time to hide behind a rock. Since Dadoria can't sense power levels without a scouter, he can't tell that our heroes are hiding behind a rock. So after a while he just gives up looking and flies away.

On his way back to rejoin Frieza however, he runs into Vegeta, who mocks him, and tries to get information about Frieza and what he is doing on Namek. Making the same mistake that Kewi made and assuming that Vegeta is still weak, Dadoria doesn't say anything, but rather digs himself into a hole just like Kewi did, so as Vegeta begins to annihilate him, Dadoria pleads for mercy, and Vegeta gives it, he says he will let him go if Dadoria tells him what he wants to know, so as Dadoria explains, Vegeta begins to laugh, and after he is finished, Vegeta grabs him and raises his hand to blast him, Dadoria pleads about the mercy that Vegeta promised, but Vegeta replies that he did say that he would let him go, but he never said where, and that place was the next dimension. So he Blasts Dadoria killing him. Goku, now in space continues his training under 10 times earth's gravity, because he doesn't know what the gravity will be like on namek, so be trains in order to get stronger, and prepare for battle.

On Namek Vegeta begins his own expedition to gather dragonballs, and as he gathers 1 dragonball, he hides it underwater, and flies off to get another one, now that Frieza has 5 dragonballs, and Vegeta has 1, there is only 1 left, which is at the elder namek Guru's house, so Gohan goes to get it. While he is there the elder namek awakens his power inside and makes Gohan even stronger then he could imagine. Gohan gets the dragonball, and on the way back, he runs into Vegeta, who is carrying a dragonball of his own, But Gohan hides his dragonball, and after getting a knee full from Vegeta, Gohan continues on his journey back to the base where Krillin and Bulma are waiting for him. Vegeta Runs into another one of Frieza's henchmen, named Zarbon, and as they get into a battle, even thou Vegeta is stronger then ever, he is still no match for Zarbon, and barley loses he gets knocked out, and brought to Frieza's spaceship to recover, big mistake considering that he will be like three times as strong after he recovers. Which is exactly what happens. He wakes up and blasts the area around him, then runs into the main deck while Frieza isn't there, and steals all 5 of his dragonballs.

Now Vegeta has all 6 dragonballs, all he has to do is go to the lake and get the one that he placed there and he will have all 7. But when he gets there it isn't there, and he realizes that Gohan had taken it. So he flies in Gohan's direction furious as ever, while he is flying there, Zarbon sees him and arrives at the location, while they are about to get into battle again Vegeta warns Zarbon that it's not going to be the same as last time, and when they start fighting, Vegeta totally annihilates Zarbon, takes the Dragonball from Gohan and flies off to make his wish. During this time Frieza summons on his elite class of fighters to come to namek and take care of this Vegeta problem, and to fetch his dragonballs back. So the elite fighting force known as the Gynu force lifts off and launches for Namek. Back in space Goku is still training, but he is almost at namek so he intensifies his training to 100 times gravity. He is stronger then ever now.

Gohan and Krillin fly off to get the power up from Guru's for Krillin and when the Gynu force lands on Namek the head off into the general direction where Vegeta is, Gohan and Krillin get the power up, and they find Vegeta and the rest of the dragonballs, the Gynu force also arrives. They are extremely powerful, and as the little short guy called Guldo of the Gynu force is to go first in destroying the opponents, Krillin tries to destroy the dragonball he is holding but it is immediately snatched from him and reappeared in Guldo's hands. They learn that he has the ability to stop time. So as they begin to fight with Guldo Vegeta just stands there watching, as Guldo eventually gains the upper hand, and as he is about to finish Gohan and Krillin off, Vegeta strikes from behind, where Guldo can't see, and kills Guldo on the spot. he points out that you should never attack one of those species head on.

The next Gynu force member steps up to the plate, and as Captain Gynu has left to deliver the dragonballs to Frieza, there are only 3 more left now that Guldo is dead. This next Member is called Recoom, he is a giant fighter, and after showing how strong he was to Gohan and Krillin, Vegeta steps in once again, and knocks Recoom around a lot, he basically man-handles Recoom, but Recoom has too much de fence, and he takes the beating, eventually taking out Vegeta with a few hits. Then he beats on Gohan and Krillin a bit more, during this entire time Goku finishes his training, and arrives on Namek. He senses where Frieza is who is now heading towards Guru's to try to figure out how to use the dragonballs properly. He also senses where Gohan is and he notices that his life force is almost diminished, so he blasts off at full speed towards Gohan, and gets there almost immediately. When he gets there he throws Vegeta, Gohan, and Krillin a senzu bean to recover them to full strength, and then he takes out Recoom with 1 punch. Vegeta is stunned at the power that is coming from Goku, he seems so calm, but he is in fact more powerful then all the Gynu members put together.

Goku then takes out the next Gynu force member, and as the last one (Jeice) flies off to warn the captain Gynu of the news, Goku gets the story from Vegeta and Gohan. As Captain Gynu rejoins Jeice, and comes back to where Goku and Vegeta are, (Gohan and Krillin had left to get the dragonballs back while Gynu was distracted) Gynu challenges Goku to a fight, and as they begin they are equal strength, but they reveal that they had been only testing each other out, when they power up to full strength, Goku annihilates Gynu, and when he is about to win, Gynu injures himself, and uses a body switching technique to switch with Goku's body. He then flies off into Gohan and Krillin's direction. Vegeta is also there and when they realize that they need a password to use the dragonballs they get Dende to come and give the password. As they are waiting Vegeta gives Gohan and Krillin some saiyan armor for when Frieza comes back, they will need it. When they come back outside, they see that Gynu (in goku's body) has arrived and after a while Gohan realizes that it is not his father, and a battle breaks out between them.

The real goku finally arrives (in Gynu's body) and begins to fight with Gohan along with Krillin to take out Gynu, to Gynu's surprise he is actually getting weaker, because he doesn't know how to use Goku's body properly, and how to harness his power. So he is defeated, and as he is about to be finished, he tries switching bodies with Vegeta but Goku jumps in the way and gets his own body back. As Vegeta takes out Jeice thinking he is a super saiyan, Gynu sees that Vegeta is now the strongest fighter, so he tries to switch bodies with Vegeta, as Vegeta was still distracted with Jeice, he didn't see the beam coming toward him, and therefore had no time to react, but as the beam is about to overtake him, Goku throws a frog up in the air, and in between the beam and Vegeta, so Gynu ends up switching bodies with the frog. Since Goku is seriously injured they take him to a recovery cell, and as he is recovering, Vegeta gets some sleep, as Gohan and Krillin try to summon the dragon. They get dende to summon is, and realize that they get 3 wishes. So the first wish they use to Bring Piccolo back to life, the second wish was used to transport him to namek, and as they are thinking of what to say for the third wish, Vegeta wakes up. Now that piccolo is alive the Earth dragonballs are back, so Mr Popo goes to collect those.

Piccolo, now on namek flies by Nail who was a victim of Frieza's destruction, he fuses with nail and becomes more powerful then Goku was when he came to namek. He blasts off into the direction of Frieza's ship. Vegeta wakes up furious and comes outside and demands that dende makes the wish, but as he is about to make it Guru dies, and the dragonballs are negated. Frieza arrives on the scene, and does battle with Vegeta. Vegeta is strong enough to take out Frieza in his first form, but after he transforms, Vegeta is negated. Piccolo arrives on the scene and does battle with Frieza's second form, and makes him transform yet again, after Frieza transforms, Piccolo takes off his weighted clothing, and does battle with him, they are evenly matched, so Frieza is forced to transform one final time to his final form, and after he does he totally annihilates Piccolo. When he is about to destroy the gang Goku finishes his recovery and flies to the location, when he gets there he sees Frieza murder Vegeta, and he gets really mad. Considering that Goku is a saiyan, he is now stronger then ever since he has just recovered from a near death experience.

So he does battle with Frieza, but eventually gets pounded into the ground. He gets knocked around a bit, until he decided to make a spirit bomb. He gathers energy from all around the solar system, and makes a planet sized spirit bomb. He launches it at Frieza who hadn't noticed it in the sky, and nearly finishes Frieza off. Frieza barley comes back and murders Krillin, seeing his best friend die like that, Goku is enraged and turns into a super saiyan. He tells Gohan to leave because he doesn't know for how long he can contain his anger. Once Gohan leaves Goku lets loose, and totally obliterates Frieza. Frieza powers up to 100% and they do battle. The earth dragonballs are gathered and all the people that died as a result of Frieza were wished back to life, including Guru. Now that the namekian dragonballs are back the last wish to bring all who are on namek to earth is made and everyone except Goku and Frieza are teleported to earth as it was wished. Goku and Frieza continue to pound at each other, and after a while Goku gets the upper hand, he Finishes Frieza with Frieza's own technique, and after giving Frieza some energy so that he could survive. Frieza used it to attack Goku from behind. Goku turned around and blasted Frieza into the next dimension. But as he desperately tries to escape the namek that is about to explode due to a destruction ball that Frieza had launched into the ground earlier, he is unable to find a ship that works in time, and Is killed as the planet explodes...or is he?

Back on earth, the dragonballs are used alternatively to wish all the people back from the dead, and then they are used to create a new namek and then to bring all the namekians back to the new namek. But the interesting thing is the when they tried to wish goku back from the dead, the dragon said that Goku wasn't dead, and when they tried to wish that Goku be brought to earth from wherever he was the dragon said that Goku has chosen not to come to earth at the moment. Gohan is relieved to hear that his father isn't dead, but he is confused as to why he didn't want to come home to earth. Find out on the next saga summary!
