::...DBZU--Dragonball at its maximum...::
Information: Storyline of Dragonball Z/GT
As all of you might know, Dragonball has a very intresting storyline with many new characters being introduced during the series and so many intresting developments. But Dragonball Z has a kind of repetitive plot and storyline. A villain comes and attacks the planet either in a search for dragonballs or just for the sport of destroying the earth, Goku arrives by luck and saves the day, and then a gap and then again the same happens. But still, it keeps the viewers at the edge of their seats.
DRAGONBALL: The Dragonball series is all about a small boy with a tail, named Goku, and how he develops into a strong Martial Artist. He faces many dangers and villains along his lifetime, but this only makes him stronger. The story starts with Goku meeting another girl named Bulma and they go searching for the dragonballs so that the dragon can grant their wish. Along their search, they meet many villains, but also many good guys who later become their friends. Their plans are foiled due to special circumstances and so Goku heads off to Master Roshi, an old Martial Artis and the strongest one on Earth, to train. Here he gets another friend who also trains with him, Krillin. Both of them train and take part in the World Martial Arts Tournament. However they are defeated by Master Roshi who disguises himself and takes part in the Tournament. Goku is defeated by the disguised Master Roshi. But now Goku has other things to other than training. He sets off searching for the dragonballs again and even this time he has a few opponents to face. This is almost the whole storyline in the first three sagas of Dragonball shown in the US. After this, the plot twists to other characters and Goku grows up more stronger and has a few new opponents to face such as the Supreme Commnader Red and his army and also one of the most important villains in Dragonball, the evil Demon Lord Piccolo.
DRAGONBALL Z: As I said before, Dragonball Z revolves for some time around the dragonballs and immortality, but then the plot suddenly twists to the domination of the earth and the universe with the beginning of the Garlic Jr. Saga. Even then, the dragonballs are a prominent part of the series with its ability to grant wishes. But along the series, we learn many new things that aren't shown in the series as a separate saga. We learn about the Saiyan history, about the history of Cell and Majin Buu. We learn about fusion and the ability to transform. But most importantly, we learn about the transformation to a Super Saiyan and its different stages.
The story begins with the Saiyans, Nappa and Frieza arriving on earth for the dragonballs. Then it goes on to Frieza, the strongest being alive in the universe. He himself is searching for the dragonballs to gain immortality. We are taken to Namek. Then Goku fights Frieza and after anger explodes in Goku's heart, he transforms to the legendary Super Saiyan. Frieza is killed, but next comes Garlic jr. He takes over kami and is seemingly invincible. But Gohan defeats him.
Then come the Androids who wish to destroy Earth of all human beings and also Cell, the perfect eveil android ever created. Cell becomes perfect and holds the Cell Games to decide the fate of the earth. Cell is defetaed by Gohan who ascends the legendary Super Saiyan and becomes one level further, a Super saiyan 2. We see a huge clash of Kamehamehas and Cell is detsroyes after a long battle.
Then earth is peaceful for a while, but Majin Buu is released on Earth and causes world-wide ddestruction. Majin Buu first seems like an evil-being, but has a good side too. But all effort to make him good falls to vain as he releases his evil form, Evil Buu and when both these Buu's combine, Super Buu is formed. Fusion is introduced and the combined being of Goten and Trunks, Gotenks is born. Gotenks and Buu fight, but Buu plays with them. Gohan comes and fights Super Buu and in a desperate attempt, Super Buu transforms after absorbing Gotenks and Piccolo. Gohan is no match and so Goku arrives after the elder Supreme Kai gives up his life for Goku. Super Buu de-transforms since Gotenks fusion is over, but now he absorbs Gohan. Super Buu is unmatched and so Goku and Vegeta fuse for permanent into Veggeto. In order to rescue their friends, they get absorbed too and Super Buu is transformed into a kid-like form. Stronger than ever, Goku gathers a spirit bomb to kill Kid Buu and Kid Buu is killed.
So, you see, as I told you, the storyline is similar and is also kind of repetitve, but with each episode's end, it keeps the viewer wanting for more.
DRAGONBALL GT: Dragonball GT has bsically three sagas and two of these sagas have to deal with the newly developed Black Star Dragonballs. Due to all the negative energy formed, another set of dragonballs develop named Black Star Dragonballs. The rules for these dragonballs are that once you have made your wish, these dragonballs are scattered all over the universe and if not found within one year, the planet on which the wish was made will be destroyed. So the first saga starts off with Goku being turned into a kid by a wish Pilaf made and so Kid Goku, Pan-Goku's grand-daughter and Trunks, now a teenager, set off in pursuit of the black star dragonballs. While searching for these dragonballs, they land on many small planets and have small adventures. Bebi also lands on earth along with the Z fighters. Bebi terrorizes Earth with his ability to take over bodies and minds of people since he is a Tsufuru-jin. Bebi finds his best victim, Vegeta and takes over Vegeta. Bebi Vegeta and Goku duel and finally Goku transforms to Super Saiyan 4 and defeats Bebi Vegeta.
Dr. Gero combines Android #17 with Artificial 17 to form Super Android 17. Goku and 17 fight and many of Earth's population is destroyed along with property. But Android 17 is destroyed and the dragonballs are collected to wish back the damage and bring Earth back to normal. But now four dragons have come out due to the negative energy and all the dragons must be defeated to wish anything. All the dragons are destroyed, but the last one is very powerful and only Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta can fight against it. The last Li Shenron dragon is defetaed, but Goku gets the dragonballs absorbed inside him proving that he is the strongest in the universe.
If you might have noticed, there are a lot of similarities between Dragonball Z's storyline and Dragonball GT's storyline.
