Information: Dragonball Z: About Super Saiyans
Saiyans or Saiya-Jin is a warrior race. There are no longer any pure Saiya-Jins in the Universe other than Goku and Vegeta. Both Goku and Vegeta were born on the Planet Vegeta and have ascended from the Saiya-Jin origin. Saiya-Jins have some unique capabilities and also some unique features, some of which they are born with. One of these unique features is their tails which give them the ability to transform into a Giant Ape or Oozaru when they see the full moon.( More about this transformation is given as you read further)But the description of this race doesn't stop here. There was a legend of a Super Saiyan with incredible strength and speed and he was believed to come every once in a 1000 years. The first Super Saiyan was achieved by someone who went Oozaru and then unable to control himself, ended up destroying himself. There are four types of Super Saiyans in the series Dragoball Z/GT:
 Super Saiyan One:
This stage is achieved when anger fills one's heart over the death of a loved one or also when the power level reaches a high limit. The Saiyan's heart must be pure good or pure evil. When a person goes Super Saiya-Jin, a golden aura surrounds him and his hair changes into a golen yellow and stands on the end. The pupils in his eyes turn a color of green. Both muscle mass and energy level increase by a tremendous amount. To become a Super Saiyan, one must fulfill the following requests:
A minimum power level of 300,000(Goku's power-level without using Kaioken while fighting Frieza)
A quiet, pure and calm heart
Extreme Rage
No tail
First Achieved: Goku in the Frieza Saga when Frieza killed Krillin.
Also Achieved: Vegeta,Gohan,Goten,Trunks(both Chibi and Mirai), Gotenks, Vegetto, Brolly(Movies only)
Stage 2 Super Saiyan(commonly known as Ultimate Super Saiyan):
This form is not the next level in the Super Saiyan, but its between Super Saiyan 1 and Super Saiyan 2. It can also be called Super Saiyan 1.5. The user's body mass increases causing their fighting potential to increase as well, but decreases the user is slwed down due to the unbalanced distribution of muscle.
First Achieved: Vegeta
Also Achieved:Goku, Future Trunks
Stage 3 Super Saiyan:
This stage is also between the Super Saiyan 1 and 2 levels, so it can be called Super Saiyan 1.8 if you want. As in the Stage 2, body mass increase even more, but the speed is decerased again by a good amount, making this stage, a very ineffective level of fighting. This level is used only once by Future Trunks against Perfect Cell.
First Achieved: Future Trunks in the Perfect Cell Saga
Also Achieved: Goku
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
 Legendary/ Ultra Super Saiya-Jin:
This is supposedly a Super Saiyan stage never introduced in the mangas. This is considered the real form the Legendary Super Saiyan, but actually its not. Brolly is shown as the legendary Super Saiyan in the movie and when he transforms and achieves this stage, the thin Brolly becomes a bulky, bloodthirsty, monster. His arms increase in muscle mass and is now almost thrice the size of a normal Super Saiyan's arms. Brolly is very powerful and is almost indestructable in this form. He even kills his own father, because he loses all sense and only wants to detsroy and kill.
First Achieved: Brolly in Movie 8
Also Achieved: No-one
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Super Saiya-Jin Two:
This level comes after Super Saiya-Jin 1. It is pretty similar to Super Saiya-Jin One if you look at it. But the power level increases much more than Super Saiya-Jin and the hair stands up even more. The Golden Aura remains around the body but some electric sparks float over the aura. Gohan was the first to achieve this stage during the Cell Saga when Cell tried to push him over the edge. But Cell pushed him a little too far and Gohan transformed to this stage. Then Cell was in for the beating of his life as Cell himself didn't stand aginst the powerful Super Saiya-Jin-2.
First Achieved: Gohan in the Cell Saga when Cell killed Android#16.
Also Achieved: Goku, Vegeta
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Super Saiya-Jin Three:
This is the next level in a Super Saiya-Jin. It is also the most wonderful to watch. When Goku transformed to this stage to show Majin Buu the true power of a Siya-Jin, the whole earth trembled due to Goku's power. Piccolo and Krillin thought that Goku was bluffing. But Goku proved them wrong by turning Super Saiya Jin-3.
The features of this level was unbelievable. It was way different from the first two stages. The hair grows longer and much longer that they reach the calves of Goku.(Calves are near the knees)The eyebrows of Goku totally vanished and his power level increased by a humondous amount. The pupils remained green. But Goku looked more like a bad guy than a good guy. Goku was able to beat the crap out of Majin Buu the first time, but some time later his speed decreased and he started feeling dizzy. This was as Goku said to Buu"I am still not used to this transformation." But this was only the first time. Later Goku got used to it and it took most of Goku's power and energy to kill Buu.
First Achieved: Goku
Also Achieved: Gotenks
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Super Saiya-Jin Four:
This level is believed to be fake by some guys who believe the whole DBGT Series is fake. However, this level appears only in the Dragonball GT Series.
This level is achieved first when a Saiyan is in his Golden Oozaru form. This level may be looked as a whole new face to a Super Saiya-Jin. Sometimes to achieve this stage, the Saiyan must have gone through all the other stages. But this is not a neccesity in all cases.
The features are of a totally new kind. Most of the chest except the middle gets covered with red fur. The hands upto the wrists get covered with red fur as well. The hair-style of the Saiyan changes considerably. The length of the hair increases more than SSJ1 and SSJ2 but is shorter than that of SSJ3. The hair stands up in all directions instead of collecting as locks. Two locks of hair lie on each shoulder as one long lock of hair lies on the back. The eyebrows come back, unlike Super Saiya-Jin 3. There is no longer any golden aura surrounding the Saiyan. Instead all the energy is contained within the body and so the power level increases further. Dark red lines border the eyes. But the most important part that a Saiyan must have for going SSJ4 is the tail. Because while going SSJ4 for the first time, one must transform into a Golden Oozaru.
First Achieved: Goku
Also Achieved: Vegeta
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oozaru:
This is the first level of transformation in the whole DB/Z/GT Series. This is because this is the easiest level of transformation for a Saiyan. For this transformation, all a Saiyan needs is his tail and a full moon to look at. Since all the Saiyans are born with tails this is no problem and since a full moon appears very often, they can transform to this stage quite often. The features of this stage are ... When a Saiyan transforms to this stage he becomes an ape and his strength increases tenfold. But, if the Saiyan has no control over his mind when he is transformed, he can wreak havoc and can be completely out of control. Goku and Gohan, when first transformed to this stage, went crazy and destroyed everything in their way. But when Vegeta transformed to this stage in the Saiyan Saga, he was completely normal and so he was able to use his increased strength. Also the only energy blasts that a Saiyan can perform when in this stage are mouth beams, which can be powerful but not that powerful.
First Achieved as seen in the Series: Goku
Also Achieved: Gohan, Vegeta, and the other Saiyans.PICTURE COMING SOON
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Golden Oozaru:
This transformation is seen only in the DBGT Series. This level is achieved when a Saiyan transforms into a Super Saiyan when in his Oozaru stage. The strength increases more than that of a Golden Oozaru and the fur becomes golden. This is also the first step toward going Super Saiyan 4. So in short, the Saiyan will need a tail to go Oozaru or a Golden Oozaru or Super Saiyan 4. But after this transformation, you wouldn't need the tail anymore to go SSJ4. This stage is only needed once. Also you would need to look at a full earth for going to this level and not a full moon.
First Achieved: Goku in the Bebi Saga.
Also Achieved: Bebi Vegeta
