As everyone might be familiar with, the whole Dragonball/ Z/ GT Series doesn't take place in one particular planet and there are lots of other planets and galaxies involved. Given above are the four basic galaxies that are sometimes seen in the series as well as the films. Given below are some of the impostant places that we see during the series. Everything is detailed with pictues to the last planet. So I think you will enjoy knowing more about the planets and universe of the DBZ/GT series.
Hell/Home for Infinite Losers:
This is a small place where evil beings go after death. Unfortunately, there isn't anyone strong to guard this planet and sometime the evil guys break out, as it happened in the After Life Tournament Saga. The only way you can get to this place is either if you were sent by King Yemma for doing evil things while alive or if you fall off Snake Way, as in the case of Goku. The only way to leave this place through a small tunnel that will lead to King Yemma's desk drawer.
Snake Way:
This is a long path that starts from King Yemma's castle and leads to King Kai's(North Kai's) planet. It is the only way anyone can reach North Kai's planet and it is almost 1,000,000 km long. Only two persons have ever accomplishes crossing the Snake Way and reaching King Kai's planet; the first being King Yemma himself and the second, Goku. As this long pathway ends, it shapes up like a snake's head and so the name Snake Way. An ogre is in charge of cleaning the path with a machine that is similar to the modern street sweeper. But if one falls of the Snake Way, he/she will end up in Hell with no way of returning.
The Kais Planets:
The four Kais have planets of their own and King Kais is just at the end of the Snake Way; his being the nearest to Earth since he overlooks that part of the galaxy. The gravity in this planet is twenty times that of earth and so provides a good environment for training. Goku comes here and he is faced with many intresting and sometimes corny tasks like catching Bubbles, the monkey and hitting Gregory with a mallot. These prove to be no easy task since Goku's opponents are easily adjusted to the high gravity while Goku's not.
Click on any of the four Kais to learn more about them:
King Yemma's Castle:
This can be called a checking station if you want. All the spirits go here after they die and there names are entered into a diary or a directory. King Yemma decides where to send each one of them; to heaven or to hell. Inside the castle is a path that leads to the airport that takes you to heaven. This airport is used to take Goku and King Kai to the Grand Kai's planet.
Heaven:
This is the place where all the good spirits are sent after Majin Buu destroys all the population on earth. This planet is very similar to Earth in its environment. Its full of lush vegetation and greenery flourishes.
Sun of the Other World:
There can't be a universe without a sun, can it? Well, maybe in some cases. But the universe in DBZGT has a sun too. But this is the sun of the other World. Nothing special, just that it glows brightly during the day producing light and warmth and is hidden producing nightime.
Grand Kai's Planet:
This is the planet of the legendary Grand Kai or Dai Kaioshin. This planet is above the four Kai's planet and is way much bigger than the Kai's planet. The After Life Tournament is held here and also Goku meets for the first time, the great Grand Kai. Everyone believes that he is a great fighter and the art of the Grand Kai cannot be witnessed by ordinary human eyes. Most people train on this planet for over a thousand years so that they can get a free lesson from Grand kai himself. But thats not true. Grand Kai is way too lazy and has become a couch potato to train any of the fighters. He is also dressed very unusually and likes to listen to rock music. Noone would say he is the Grand Kai at the very first look.
Supreme Kai/ Kaioshin Planet:
This is the home planet of all the Kaioshins or Supreme Kais. The planets sky is pink, as you can all see, and it has many moons revolving around it. This planet isn't known to many and some people don't even know that a Kai greater than the Grand kai exists. The Supreme Kai is very serious and is not funky like the Grand Kai. Everyone used to believe that a stronger power than the Supreme Kai or Kaioshins didn't exist, but Supreme Kai found that he was outmatched by the Saiyans. Supreme Kai lives alone on this planet with his accomplice, Kibito. Gohan was taken to this planet to train with the Z Sword and he also received his power-boost on this planet. A great deal of this planet is destroyed during the fight between Goku and Kid Buu.
